About Quests End
Hi.
My name is Carlie Coolidge
Some of you may already know me.
My mother Betty Coolidge and I ran our Craft and Gift Shop called "Quest End Country Crafts" on Rt. 20 in Duanesburg for 33 years.
I looked after my mom for many years but became her 24/7 care-giver in November of 2004.
After my mother passed away in October of 2006, I decided to take a year to get things in order and regroup.
During that time I have been Pet Sitting and House Sitting for friends, which started me thinking about services that folks in the areas of Duanesburg and Delanson could use.
Hence... the opening of Quests End.
Bruce, my partner of 20 years and I are the chief caretakers & pooper scoopers for 14 cats. Yes 14! Most were products of feral barn cats and were sick or abandoned. One we found in the dumpster up at Stewarts. 2 are semi-feral so it's a challenge to catch them and get them to the vet when needed.
Needless to say I have lots of cat experience!
Over the years I have cared for all sorts of critters including farm animals.
At this point I am a 1 woman operation with the assistance of Bruce in case of illness or emergency.
As the business grows, I will be adding more help, looking to employ stay at home moms when their kids are in school and seniors looking to supplement their incomes. I think it's important to try to create more jobs in the area.

When my mom and I had the shop people would ask about the name "Quest End".

When my parents came to Duanesburg, when I was around 5 years old they looked at our old farmhouse to buy it.
It was a mess!
The plaster was falling down, wires were hanging out, they had kept chickens in the house.
They were looking at a lot of work ahead of them.
Then my mother noticed an old weather worn plaque on the outside of the house above what had once been the front door.
It said....
"Here ends the Quest for Peace and Solitude".
Ya know what's coming don't ya?
Yep, they bought the farm!
They named it Quest End Farm
and when my mother opened
the shop, she called it Quest End Country Crafts.
So it just seemed right to continue the "Family Tradition" and name my business
Quests End.
I don't know if I would go so far as to say I am offering Peace and Solitude but  I can at least
offer Peace of Mind to people by offering reliable care for reasonable prices.
